The original Zodiac Group was created in France in 1932 and consisted of 12 collectors who each sponsored Salvador Dali for one month of each year. In exchange, each patron received a work that Dali produced during that same month. To honor them for their devotion to the arts Salvador Dali held an annual feast and private auction in his studio for the group.
The Zodiac Group was reformed at the Salvador Dali Museum in 1996.
In the spirit of the original founders, the group host several social events each year that combine art and entertainment such as the annual Martini Party, the Z Grapes Wine Tasting and ever popular Musical Chairs Dinner where guest are invited to participate in surreal parlor games. Additionally, you can find the steering committee and other fellow Zodiacs at one of the selected Bay area restaurants where members receive Special Discounts on Entrées every month for a Z-Feast.
The current 2008 Zodiac Steering Committee is: Rep DeLoach-President, Lisa Kaschak-Vice President, Kelly Smith-Secretary, Debbie Haran-Treasurer, Mandi Bagley, Nancy Dinucci, Alison Hardage, John Sullivan, Harry Venezia, and Simone Bennett.
Net proceeds from these events provide unrestricted support to the Salvador Dalí Museum, so it can address the Museum's most pressing needs.

A couple months ago, an intrepid group of adventure seekers joined the Zodiac Group for a trip into the unknown. The anonymous location turned out to be the wacky Solomon's Castle in Ona, Florida! It was pure camp at its best!
Back by popular demand, the Zodiac Group is hosting yet another "trip" into the strange and mysterious. Do you want to see a fun part of our local area? Want to meet new people? See some interesting things? Not even know where you are going? If so, this trip is for you! Meet at the entrance of the Dali Museum on Friday, August 22, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
From there, you will be given directions where we will all meet (in our own vehicles) at our mystery spot. Taking into account the recent gas crunch, the unidentified location will be local and is not far from the Dalí Museum. This mystery area will have music, a tour, grounds to explore and lots of art. (Food and cocktails will not be provided but you are welcome to BYOB.)
Come see a local treasure with the Zodiacs in the group's second trip into the unknown! The cost is $5 per person and carpools can be coordinated. The event is very casual and you will be outside.

Join the Zodiac Group and friends for an evening of fabulous wines, incredible food, avant-garde music, a thought-provoking scavenger hunt and a viewing of Women: Dalí's View, the special exhibition which showcases work from the Salvador Dalí Museum's permanent collection.
A docent tour will be available at 7:30 p.m. for a guided tour of this special exhibition.
Get a head start on the scavenger hunt as early as 7:00 p.m. for a chance to win exciting prizes!
7-8pm : Z.I.P Premium Tasting - Zodiac's version of a VIP Tasting-this exclusive pre-party includes all of the benefits of the Grand Tasting in addition to featuring premium wines, specially selected hors d'oeuvres from Fresco's Waterfront Bistro to please your palate and live music by Giddy-up, helicopter!
8-10pm : The Grand Tasting - This Grand event will feature tantalizing wines, delicious hors d'oeuvres from Fresco's, more live music by Giddy-up, helicopter! and the continued opportunity to participate in the scavenger hunt and explore the works that make the world-renown Salvador Dalí Museum's collection in St. Petersburg a treasure.
